Every district has its own command staff
The City of Miami is broken into police districts, each run out of its own station. A Major oversees the district, with a Commander under them, and the two together set the priorities for everything that happens in that stretch of the city.
Each district also assigns Neighborhood Resource Officers and a Crime Prevention Specialist to handle non-emergency, community-level concerns — Crime Watch and Business Watch coordination, for example. Where a direct email is published, it's usually a badge number at miami-police.org, and reaching that officer directly is often faster than going through the general non-emergency line.
South District (Flagami), based at 2200 West Flagler, is one example: Major Daniel Garrido, Commander Alfredo Delgado, Neighborhood Resource Officers Ofc. Ryan Dreseris and Ofc. Alexia Maguffey, and Crime Prevention Specialist Suhail Nazario. Your own address falls under a different district and neighborhood, with different names and emails.
Finding your own district's direct contacts
The reliable way to get yours: call the non-emergency line at (305) 579-6111, tell them your address or neighborhood, and ask for that district's Informational Sheet or the Neighborhood Resource Officer covering you by name. Your neighborhood association is also worth checking — some have already posted their district's sheet.
911 vs. everything else
Emergency 911 covers anything in progress or life-threatening, in any district. For everything else, City of Miami's non-emergency line is (305) 579-6111.
A few problems have their own dedicated tip lines: the Narcotics/CST Tip line at (305) 62-DRUGS, the MPD Gang Hotline at (305) 603-6065, and Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-8477 or 1-866-471-TIPS for anonymous tips.
